The festive season has come and gone. Too quickly for me to even notice the things I would have in the past. The fun, the laughter, the warmth of being surrounded by family and friends, the gifts, the meet ups, the love.

But this year I failed to feel the hype of the holiday, the excitement that I was so prone to get just a mere six months before the special season. Where I would brave the crowds in Orchard and the malls to get gifts that will burn an amfully huge hole in my pocket but I know will be well received by my loved ones.

This is strangely ironic since this is my first holiday back after being away for over 10 months. Surely the excitement and everything fun and good must still be there, no? Why has it all disappeared, like I am actually better off being back Down Under?

And despite not doing much the last month or so. I am tired. Maybe more tired than I have been in the semesters before. Thank goodness for some friends who still bother to ask me out, but sorry that I can't attend most of them, family obligations that I cannot say no to.

If this is what it's like to take the back seat, I don't really like it. But hey, I will learn to get used to it.

Just a very short email, almost a one liner from the boy.

That made my day.

Merry christmas everyone.

Recently I have not been feeling like it has been the best of days. Alot has happened in a short span of time and the feelings are mixed.

The recent turn of events around me have made me realised how fortunate I am. That I still have loving parents who care for me, love me and support me in more ways than I can ever imagine. That my brother though not very expressive, loves me and is willing to do anything within his means to make me a better person.

But at the same time, I cannot help but feel saddened by it all. Sure, I am not affected directly, but indirectly, I also feel the loss and hurt that the loved ones are going through.

There isn't much to help with, but the thoughts and worry will always be there.

I guess time will heal the wounds and hurt. Or at least we pray it to be true.

Just an hour in the chair and I've now got a ifferent look that I am still trying to get used to. Sometimes I wonder why am I so not in touch with beautifying myself? It sure feels like that will come in very handy now.

So with a few snips I now need to get used to my hair, and with a few clicks I am now a little more broke.

But at least it is for things that I will need.

The boy is leaving too soon. Has it already been 25 days since I last saw him? That's only a quarter of the tie needed to be spent away from him.

Maybe I just need to really busy myself as much as possible and the next thing I know, I will be busy packing to return for my final year of studies!

Tuesday, December 11, 2007

It's been almost 3 weeks since I have been back. The sweltering humidity, the congested paths on the streets and in the malls, the constant rain - all of which I have more or less adjusted back to.

Strangely enough, many friends have assumed that I would be swamped with meetings and gatherings. But I don't know if it's amusing or sad, the numbe of outings that I have planned with friends are few and far.

My return to Singapore was not announced to many. I didn't see a point. For one, I have become a rather private person. Having to share my social life with two different worlds makes things hard. I don't know how to bridge the gap between both and make things easier for myself to maintain all contacts that I have once treasured.

Also, during my stay away from Singapore, I hardly made contact with people back home. Trying to settle into a brand new routine, with no old friends around was not daunting, but certainly very tiring.

It was then that I discovered no matter how people viewed me as a very sociable person, I found out the hard way that maybe like butterflies, my friends flutter around but never stay.

It maybe busy schedules, it maybe work, it maybe that they just don't want me as a friend anymore. I want to say it's my fault for not keeping in touch with everyone. But thinking back, I did write emails about me settling in fine and all, but after the initial weeks of fun and relaxation, the assignments and readings got to me. I was struggling half the time with school work and the expectations I had to try and meet.

But while all that happened, it almost felt like only a very few took the initiative to keep in touch with me. Some of them were people that I have never been really close to. Their constant text messages, emails, postcards and even parcels on my birthday were pleasant surprises that usually became the highlight of my usually stressful week.

It takes both parties to make something work, doesn't it? Both parties have to give and take and not just do fulfil only one aspect of it.

My years of giving everything I have to my friends, I somehow don't see the strong ties staying strong or even ever being strong.

I guess maybe I am too stubborn, or that I am expecting too much of my friends.

But a simple msn message or email saying hi once in a while.

Is that too much to ask for?

The boy sent me this tonight before logging off.
I miss him dearly.

The cool weather, the breeze that freshens and brightens up your day.

The friendly people.

The initial thought of coming home didn't look that inviting. Back to home where I have not met anyone for 10 months, where it will be hard to relate to people (quite possible) would be a nightmare for a social creature like me.

It took me a while to finally get used to life in Brisbane and appreciate everything about it. Now, I had to et my stuff packed and be home for the holidays.

The friendships forged, times spent together, all left where they were.

The love found, the times treasured, all kept inside locked tightly as memories.

The fear of coming back to a reverse culture shock - uncertainty, unfamiliarity.

But as I boarded my flight and started to feel more at ease. And then though part of a possible SOP, Singapor Airlines steward Ong Pang Kay looked at me and said: " Welcome home."

Everything all fell into place.

One more exam and then I will be done. But I need to pass this exam just to pass this class. Goodness. Talk about stress.

Morning teas have been good. Delicious chocolate muffins, berry muffins, butter cookies, double chocolate cookies. All washed down with a nice warm cup of coffee. Definitely the best thing to wake up to.

Bugs. I hate bugs.

Well its past the time where they just all feel the warm weather nearing and start swarming the streets. But I hate them. I really do. And these aren't the only bugs that I have to tolerate with. Some bugs are just so annoying. They make their freaking own judgement when it is none of their business whatsoever and think they are all fantastic. Seriously, if they were that great, go get laid or something. Ugh.

I am so going to hate packing. Really. Thankfully I have more days this time to do so since I end earlier than last semester. Then it will be a week that I am looking forward to spending with him. That is good enough an incentive to try and pack up as fast as possible.

Back to editing. Ugh ugh ugh.

MICHELLE, I am craving Waraku, Tonkichi, Hanabi, chicken rice, bbq wings, stingray, ayam goreng, kang kong, dim sum, wanton mee, ipoh hor fun, sweet & sour pork, mushroom swiss burgers, beef noodles... ok the list goes on and on and on! So beware of me and Steph!

Light fluffy spongecake.

A whole tray of it.

A taste that comforts the soul. Simple and statisfying.

Soft to the touch, substantial to the tummy.

All topped off with a delicious lemon icing - sweet, sharp and with a tinge of buttery feel to it, finished with a creamy texture.

That's one of the best things today. Morning tea.

I have wanted to post something here numerous times, but I get caught up in something else and the thoughts just fly away.

So I type now, not because I really have much to type in mind, but to let you guys know that I am alive.

It has been a busy semester thus far. Courses seem to be getting increasingly tricky and harder to do well in. The forging of new friendships and the reunion with many familiar faces from back home have become part of life's routine.

But in the midst of all of this, I have become more absent minded, less focused and losing track of the tasks at hand. And while everything good and bad have been happening, I have changed. No more am I the girl that always puts everyone and everything before myself. I, have learnt to decide when enough is enough.

Don't get me wrong. I have not changed entirely. Just that now, well, I am more, selective when it comes to putting others before myself. And I'm starting to take less notice about what people think about me, especially when I know that I should not bother myself with some people and their nonsense and behaviour. No more niceties to the world because I think that I should notbe confronting and what not. I will only be nice if I really need to and/or feel that the situation/person deserves it.

The mid-semester break has come upon us. Strangely, it is here when we are 7 weeks to the end of it all, including the exams and study week to be precise. But it is a needed break. While there will be work to complete and readings to touch, a week away from college and settling into the wonderful serenity of Gold Coast is what the doctor ordered.

Too many happenings, too many thoughts, too much emotions felt, too much to write.

Sometimes I think that I am working my brain and heart way too much.

Well here is to enjoying the rest of the days left here in Gold Coast, and to a smooth end to this academic and college year!

Just when I thought warmer days were just around the corner, the rain decides to pay us all a visit, and a mighty long visit it has been.

Rain is good, especially in this drought stricken state for the moment, but then walking to classes becomes a pain and staying in bed for the whole day snuggled up seems like the best idea.

Got my working visa done, just need to go collect it. With the current workload, I don't know if I will get a job. While the cash and experience sounds like really tempting, the amount of readings and work needed to be done outside the classroom is quite a handful.

To Jovi, thank you for all the postcards! It's nice to know the progress of your dream career taking flight and it's nice getting mail every now and then!

Quite alot of things to get myself busy with. Been to my first NRL game, had my first meal here of "Singaporean" cuisine, celebrated my first birthday overseas.

School work's piling up, time to get back to the books and catch up.

I realise I never really write much stuff of depth on this blog anymore. Maybe I'm just being less expressive, not seeing the need for people to know so much about my happenings, online, for all to view.

I guess more things will be posted soon. When I have the time ok? Maybe some pictures too!

Hey everyone! How have you been? Let me know! =)

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

It's late. Or one can say that it's early.

Point is, it's time I sleep. But I can't sleep despite the day's activities ending only at 0100hrs.

Been trying to catch up with the amount of emails I have not replied to. The recent days had me thinking alot about the decisions I have made and if I should stick to them.

Is it possible that the spark that once caused the passion and interest to burn so intensely not be ignited again?

Perhaps it is just a moment of weakness, at the point of saturation; needing nothing but a tiny nudge, a boost, something.

Or is it really that the initial enthusiasm has died down because things are not what it was thought out to be?

There are many other things preoccupying my mind at the same time, things that I can't shove to a side since they do matter to me.

But there are moments where I wake up and realise that things will get better. Times like just then, when I was looking through past email conversations and smile at how the contents mean so much to me. Where blog surfing allows me to catch up with my friends back home and know how things are going for them.

With all of this happening inside my head, I guess I should be thankful for the people and things around me. And for the love from the tiny red dot on the map.

Will I once again take the path less travelled?

The long time away from the blog made me realise how quickly time flies.

School is already into its third week and Theatre Restaurant going into full swing with the production hitting the stage on Thursday.

The semester seems busy for me, with many an expectations to try and meet.

The birthday was great! Thank you again to all for the wishes, the gifts and the love.

Starting to feel the fatigue from the semester. Think I need to pace myself and focus on the tasks at hand.

Other than that, life has been good to me. I feel loved and am happy.

Now time to head to class. Have I mentioned that the one thing that is spoiling this whole experience is school?

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

The winter break was good. Alot of time spent relaxing, enjoying those lazy days while I could.

How quickly time flies, the first week of school is almost coming to an end. And there is already a significant difference from the start of last semester - the amount of readings that has to be done prior to the next lecture or tutorial is a tad bit daunting.

Life has it ups and downs, that I know. But sometimes I question the reasons behind our actions and the events that unfold after. I did enjoyed my break tremendously, especially towards the end of it all. There were the bittersweet moments but I guess I have myself to blame in a way.

Other than that, today I feel loved. Really loved. Not only that, I feel blessed, and very lucky. Turning a year older doesn't seem that much of a difference, especially once you have past the age of 21. But this time, it feels really special.

Thank you, all of you. For celebrating this day with me. For making me smile. The gifts and wishes have been wonderful, but not as great as knowing that you all remember.

And thank you, for making me feel really special.

The last two days have been spent surrounded by amazing sights and sounds that Mother Nature has to offer.

Blue Mountains and Port Stephens as wonderful, with the viewing of the Wentworth Falls, whales and dolphins, the climb up and down and the cold freezing weather was certainly worth it.

And then there was Hunter Valley. I think I have the tendency to splurge on sweet wines. That, I am a big sucker for. Then with that I need to spend a huge sum on postage to send it back home. I wonder what my parents will think. Heh.

Oh if anyone needs to know, I have change of flight plans. Will be leaving for Melbourne earlier. Tomorrow in fact. So yes, to cold and windy Melbourne!

Friday, July 06, 2007

Quite alot has happened the last few days. Too much commotion and complications that make simple things in life so much more enjoyable.

I took a walk around the city on my own yesterday, just to keep my mind off things. But the bustle of city life and the noises around failed to capture my attention, as I wandered around aimlessly.

Stayed out in the cold for almost 5 hours, most of it spent at The Rocks, just staring blankly at the Sydney Opera House. Maybe it was my mood, but I didn't appreciate the majestic beauty of the supposed breathtaking piece of architecture.

The spell seems to have been broken, and ideally everything should be good and happy now. But why do I have the bittersweet feeling masking the calm and serenity all around me?

My happiness is something I want to share but have to hide for now. Alot of 'what ifs' come to mind but what's done is done. I need to live with myself and the decisions I make.

I have no idea what is planned for me today but there were discussions of heading to the fish market. Oh well, I don't know where Suresh is but I will see him eventually.

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

So here i am in Sydney now. Weather is not that chilly, yet. By some stroke of luck, oneof Suresh's flatmate moved out and now i got a whole room to myself!

Exam results were out today and as usual, Karin's mediocore results streak continues. Looks like the chances of trying out for honours is slipping away rather quickly.

Need to get back to writing. Quite alot of thoughts running through my head. Need to sort them out and get them written on paper.

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

So the exams are over and done with! spent the last of the days in college packing up and boy, did I realise only then that I have SO MUCH things!!!

Will be spending the winter break within Australia. am currently in Tom's place in Gold Coast. Think I will be here with Ann till I head over to Sydney. That will be like next week.

Can't wait to meet up with Suresh in Sydney! But the cold will be awfully frightening, especially in Melbourne!

Well, anything folks, do send me an email. I will not be online that often and oh yes, MY BIRTHDAY IS IN A MONTH!!! *hint hint*

Well back to lazy cold days in Australia!!!

Saturday, June 16, 2007

Halfway through the exams and the atmosphere in college does not really feel intense.

The night of movie screening was interesting, with our good friends of drinks from the bottle shop. Chips and dips passed on from one person to another, with the genre of movies screened varying from Dumb and Dumber to Braveheart.

One brave soul almost took on an entire Smirnoff by himself, resulting in a 'performance' of balloon biting, tumbling around, lifting Karin and flying kicks in the air.

The walk back to my room was one with me looking up in the sky. The stars that littered the cloudless sky was a sight to behold, taking my breath away. I would have sat and watched it in amazement if it was not 3am in the morning, and 3 more exams this coming week.

The semester is coming to an end. How did it all go by so fast?

Thursday, June 14, 2007

Cups of hot tea or coffee placed out in the quad, with trays of either cookies, cakes or muffins (today's a choice of chocolate, butter, apple and blueberry), and a pile of fruits for your pick. A great way to start off a day of studying in this slightly chilly weather.

Apple muffins are amazing! Wished i took one more.

That's is the one thing i like about exams.. morning tea. And oh, let's not forget the tiny bite size chocolate bars we get at dinner too!

The perks of college life.. *smile*

Friday, June 08, 2007

These days the weather has been cold, between the range of 15-17 degrees I think. Time to head out to get more warm clothing to get me through this swotvac! =)

And then there is this very special day coming up. In fact, tomorrow, a good friend of mine will begin a new chapter in her life.

Since coming here, I have hardly called anyone back home. The first person I called other than my family was not my best friend, not someone that I have known almost my whole life. It was her. To check and see if her fiance was ok, if she was ok.

She was the first few people I bought something from down under as little gifts just because the Dora diary reminded me of her.

Her blog filled with updates on the preparation for the oh-so-important day made me feel like I never left home, and her chirpyness rubbed off on me - making some gloomy days that much easier to get by.

And tomorrow, this friend of mine and her fiance will make their dream come true.

To my Tutylicious, it's as though your love story is a modern fairytale that we can all hold onto and secretly wish, and believe that true love will come knocking on our door as well.

While I can't be there at the wedding, congratulations on this special day babe! *hugs* Hope you will like the gift (when you get back to office that is)!

And so, this princess and her knight in shining amour then rides off into the sunset, living happily ever after...

Thursday, June 07, 2007

The weather has been very unpredictable of late. Some time last week, the skies were always a clear blue when one woke up and got on to ou daily chores. Then out of no where, a blanket of fog came down on us one fine day.

Then the last two days have been interesting. Rain came initially in the form of a light dizzle. The next thing we knew, it continued to rain non-stop for the next 24 hours! Cold and not miserable since we all needed the rain.

This morning I got up to not the sound of rain, but the sound of birds chirping from the trees not too far away.

This post has been nothing but random. I have been wanting to type something but at the same time, the brain is tired. Need to get very focused and study!

Tuesday, June 05, 2007

The period of time that I have been away from my blog has been nothing but hectic. The last of the assignments due and now, is the week to get down and study like there is no tomorrow. Unfortunately, that is not happening for me.

The body is tired and in dire need of rest. The possibility of falling ill is there as well. And the weather does not help at all. But the will power needs to be there I suppose, and I need to get motivated.

With all of this, the need to prepare for the winter break that is looming nearer becomes more urgent. Flights not booked, places not booked, basically I need to get alot done!

Chatting with susu the other day, and we both agreed on things.

I guess I'm still holding onto something I shouldn't be. I hear songs I think of you. I smile, I feel sad. I see your face and then I wonder what happened. It is all bittersweet. But knowing that you are good (or at least i think that you are) helps alot.

Maybe you were it? But I never realised it then. Well back to my books I guess.

May not be on my blog often but hey, keep leaving those tags darlings! They brighten up my day!

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Today I have decided. The friends that I have avoided will be avoided no more. The wounds are still healing but there comes a time when you realise you need to face it all and just go with the flow.

And I am getting very irritated with my stupid room phone. I hate calling with a PhoneAway card. Bleah.

Sunday, May 20, 2007

Tonight I realised one thing - I have issues to deal with.

Not with anyone else, but with myself.

Why?

Well, it has come to my conclusion that I always have problems with friends. I mean sure, everyone has it, but how many of us actually have issues where in the end the one who feels reali hurt but not tell a soul? Where somehow you figure that maybe leaving the group is for the better of everything else.

It's not about being the 'hero' or anything for the matter. It's about giving in to the entire thing. Where you have no clue how things become as such, and with eveyrthing else going along in life. What should one do? Try to fix it when maybe it will not help? Or just bear with it and move on, hoping that it will all work out by itself?

Finding out how people view you. When it's something not nice, how does one not feel hurt by it? But life goes on does it not?

Tonight I realise one thing. While it is definitely not possible to be an island on your own, one can feel very very lonely in this very very crowded world we live in.

Thursday, May 17, 2007

I just realised that I have not thanked some people.

To Shu and Xiu, thank you for your emails. I have read them and will reply to them soon. When I can find the time to give you proper replies. Hasty replies are not nice, since you guys managed to make me amile with yours.

fairygodma and fagan, for being people whom I can occasionally drop one line conversations to via msn and not feel weird about it. Agree, we are all busy. So maybe that's all good, one line conversations that is. Beats having nothing.

kelvin sim (see I managed not to call you sir), if you read this, thank you for the constant chatting online of late. I can't recall if this will be a stressful period for u now since exams should be around the corner, but remember that there is this crazy girl down under for you to rant to!

There are others, but they know how much I love them already.

May not be online quite a bit the next few days. Choralfest tonight, college ball tomorrow, and most probably catching up on sleep the next few days. But with work, I may pop back online. So till I see all of oyu online darlings! *smooches*

Wednesday, May 16, 2007

I have been thinking of what to write, seeing that penning my thoughts out help me feel better. But all that I can think of is how disappointed I am, in myself.

The fact that my tolerance level for many a thing has gone down the drain, I am starting to have double standards in certain issues in life. Maybe I am tired, maybe I am burnt, but I have also reached points where some things I simply cannot not think and let it go.

It's most probably me, I figured. Can't be anyone else's fault if I feel left out and out of the loop.

Feeling tired and lethargic despite the hours of sleep. Think I am falling ill.

With all the things that run through my head, I am scared. For I am taking a more mature stand on things, which can only mean one thing - I am growing up.

Maybe it's the age, maybe it's the train of thought? One's mentality to things? I don't know. Maybe it's a combination of allthe above and more.

I need to breathe. Find out what's happening to make things seem to spin out of control. And the last thing I need is to start feeling homesick. It has not happened and it better not.

It could be a case of stress, as Rob suggests. But from what? Choralfest is tomorrow and I don't think I am stressed out by it.

It's time I take up more to stop all this stupid thoughts running wild im my mind.

Breathe, just breathe.

Sunday, April 29, 2007

Breathe. That's what I need to do.

Free. My mind from all these unwanted worries.

Embrace. Change for the good or bad. Life's a bitch at times, we can't always have our cake and eat it.

Trust. Myself and put everything in His hands. He will help guide me.

Love. Everyone I have within reach. Life's too short too worry and hate.

---

That aside, I think King's just had a fire alarm go off. Is it the second one already? Well well.. the joy of living next to a guys college.
The sun rays peeked out from behind the clouds. Such lovely weather to sit out on the grass, to watch the world go by. Armed with a chick lit novel, the dreamer sits under a tree. The birds around chirp as they fly by, the childen's laughter fill the air. Pages of the book rustle as the cool breeze goes by. No more worries in the world, the dreamer drifts into a world of her own...

Now that, would be an ideal way to spend this splendid Sunday.

But I decide to stay in my room. Still tired from the week's worth of slogging. Would sleep but then I need to get some work done. A nap would do me good I suppose.

It's time the clown does her final act. As the curtains draw and she takes her final bow, she knows it's all over. Remove the make-up and see the emptiness that she feels in her eyes. It's time for her to leave the crowd and she thinks her time for depature is now.

Saturday, April 28, 2007

Four assignments down. Saying it has been a hellish week might be a bit of an understatement. I don't think that I will do well since half the assignments are second year courses, where I have not even grasp the concepts of it all yet.

But with that over and done with, it's time to move on.

A quiet weekend it will be for me. At least the whole of today was very quiet. More like how things were when I first arrived - I am alone, in my own thoughts, thinking.

Everyone is out. in my little room with trusty Keiko (my laptop), and iTunes, I am able to hide from everything outside. Shutting out the noise and laughter.

The weeks have flown by, and the exams will sooner or later be just around the corner. This time, I cannot afford to slacken, I need to do what I am here to do. To receive an education which I feel will enrich my life better than what I can get back home. This experience will be one that will make me a better person holistically.

Sounds ambitous I suppose but that was what I had planned for myself when the family decided that they were willing finance me through this new chapter in my life. Their thoughtfulness and efforts must not go to waste.

The rain has come. I think everyone in Brisbane welcomes it with open arms, especially with the level five drought we have been facing for a while. But no one else will feel as happy and as relieved about the rain as I am. For today, I woke up with dark clouds glooming, but as with this evening's rain, I hope it will chase my grey skies away and welcome the new day that lies ahead of me.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

Two down, two more assignments to go.

This has to be the hardest week so far when it comes to school. The week I got my worst panic attack, and it doesnt help that the people I know for sure that I can turn to now cannot help me, and are so far away.

Pizza and movie was the plan of the night I think. Decided to skip it though I would really love being there.

I'm just confused. And I don't want to be. But at the same time, I don't want to know the truth.

Tried to get my mind off stuff by cleaning my room, but it feels like something else needs to be done.

I want to go for a walk but I don't know where to go to.

I hate it when I get this feeling. Like I know I'm going to be getting myself hurt for nothing whatsoever.

Maybe the only thing I can do now is to get involved in so many things that I won't have time to think about anything and just be alone.

If you read this, I miss how things were. To have the sudden change of things, I am finding it hard to accept. How does one decide to go from close friends to just friends in a blink of an eye?

I need a drink.

Monday, April 23, 2007

Just took place on msn not too long ago:

py: have i told you recently how much i love and appreciate you? =]

I feel loved. thanks sweets. You make the current situation i'm in that much better. *hugs*

Make this the goal of YOUR day - find someone you really treasure and tell them how much you appreciate and love them.

Trust me, it will make a difference to the person's day.

Amazing how this is my 200th post on this blog.

I almost couldn't find breathing space in the vast lands of this wonderful country. The walls felt like they were just closing in on me. The deadlines are a little more than I can take. Time management problem? Maybe, but I know I am doing my best for this.

It's like all form of motivation had just mysteriously disappeared. I don't realli have the will nor the strength to go through it all like back in poly. Those were the days I suppose, where I was strong-willed enough to go get everything done - be it good or bad.

The desire to come over here and do my best has faded away. All that's left is just, this souless individual going through the everyday chores.

Personal life wise, I almost feel like I have screwed up what I thought of as the most surprising friendships I thought I would make here. I honestly never thought I would befriend someone that would make me smile and cheer me up with his quirky antics. And then in my stupidity, I managed to petty much destroy it all. While things seem ok now, it can never be the same again. I miss the closness of what we had, and the times of seriously ridiculous laughter. But now its like something glued back together - it looks good and whole, but there are the invisible cracks that only the ones who try to put it back together can see. I miss him more than he knows, and more than I woul dlike to I must admit. And for once in a very long time, maybe I finally sense some sort of dependency I have on a person. There is only so much one can reminicse I guess. Sigh.

The night is young and the assignments call for my attention. I can only pray that in this week, I am able to turn to Him for sanity and for calmness and peace. And that in Him, I will find the way out of this and of course, remember to breathe.

ok so I got tagged. I hardly do this but since I got tagged not once but TWICE, and I'm pretty much going crazy here. Why not?

Each player of this game starts off by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.

*Ok, I can't think of weird things. Brain is not functioning well. I will just get stuff written I suppose.

1. Despite looking or behaving like some social animal, I hardly ever go to clubs. Well, I only go for like functions/ events like birthdays and school parties. But hardly.

2. I hug something like a pillow everywhere i am in the house. So now I hug a pillow very much in my room all the time, and when I'm over at friends' places. As long as somewhere feels kinda like home, I need to hug something.

3. Hug related again. I am a BIG BIG fan of hugs. Think thats pretty obvious to many of you. Without hugs I get well, down.

4. Problems get to me alot. Even if its the exams or anything that is suppose to be of more importance, I need to try n clear the matter first.

5. If you have gorgeous eyes, and you are my friend, you may very well have me staring at you for a long long time. (No not in the freaky way of course. Just like some super freaky stalker maybe. lol)

6. I like my sleep as much as the average person (I think this will be shocking revelation to the people in EMC). But I don't let my body allow that fact to sink into the system any deeper when i realise it. Especially not when I need to get things done. I will try to push till I complete whatever I need then I will rest. For me sleep takes up alot of time cos I know I need alot of sleep. YEs, Maybe more than you Kev.

Hmm.. Ok I'm suppose to tag 6 other people. Well, I'm scrolling through my links and I guess its down to TUTYLICIOUS, MIMI, KERF (aft ur exams and all of course), FAGAN, CELENA & AIDEMONDO!

stil haven updated about melbourne and gold coast and every other thing. Pretty much lagging in so many ways it's scary.

HIghlight that must be told, I joined the FREE HUGS movement thingy, just coincidental, so yeah, did it for a good 5 odd minutes before I continued my evening in MElbourne. Anyone else up for FREE HUGS?

Confusion fills the head and clouds the mind. Is it wrong to take the first step and approach the problem?

It is uncertain how and why things have turned out as such. Again, the question that never fails to surface, "Am I really that hard to talk to?". Talking to others it seems pretty ok, but in front of me it seems I need to pry open your mouth.

I don't know how to initiate conversation with you anymore. I'm tired of having to make you talk to me.

This is screwed up. I can't concentrate.

I ask you what kind of friendship it is you want 'cos I don't know anymore and you don't reply.

I have taken the first step in so many things. What more do you want out of me?

"Enough. Enough now."

- Mark, Love Actually
It was unfortunate that I had to bear witness once again how fragile the heart can be.

The cries that can bring a grown man to tears heard by my very ears, the heartache and sadness I can see in her eyes, it brought me to a time not too long ago where I cried my heart out in my room.

What can one do other than wait for time to help heal the wounds? I can only hope that the tulips and chocolates will help make this a little easier to get through.

Confining myself to my room may be the best thing now. Assignments aplenty, I think I have failed to manage my time well. The deadlines are catching many unaware (or at least we think we are), and now with less than half a day of mid-semester break left, many are in a frenzy to hit the books for exams or finish work.

With my bag of Mars eggs, beverages, a 'r'-less keyboard, and all things related to journo work, I am ready to work the night through.

All that's left is for me to insist on having a peace of mind and move on.

Gold Coast was fun, Melbourne was amazing.

While all that was great, it's time to head back to the books.

Being Friday the 13th, I managed to break the catch underneath the 'r' key on my keyboard. Now my laptop looks ugly, and I'm sad especially since it isn't even 6 months old yet! Hopefully the repair shop will get back to me asap.

It's hard to get back into the motion of getting assignments done. It was hard when I took a year off, it's even harder now with a mid-semester break.

I read Berry's blog and I teared.

I can't believe that I was not there to bid the fountain farewell. The place where I got to know Rahim, the Show Tech guys proper, the fountain staff. Where I sang national day songs like crazy during the national day and everyone followed suit. Where we get screamed at by guests and we get bumbed by it and smile it off.

Every CC I get fired up for it, from the very first one I had to do. I still remember it so vividly - being the only from Fort going for CC, I was running late and everyone thought me mad being so keen on it. The energy level was so high. At every fountain show, the rush of guests entering and leaving our beautiful fountain garden, the mesmerising show that has our emcee prancing around. Us and our 'light-sabre's'... the list goes on.

Funny incidents of guests demanding access since it is a gated event (when it is not), and tour guides who think they rule over us. But they failed to realise one thing, the fountain is ours to guard, not theirs to demand.

And let's not even forget the times I was there doing voice-overs for FOY. And of course, spending the nights there with island people who love me so so much.

It is sad that I never had the chance to bid farewell to it proper. No shots of me there. No shots of me on the stage. I can't think of any other place on island where guests and staff together share the joy and all leave with smiles on our faces.

I saw a picture of the Songs of the Sea opening in the paper of MX the other day. It brought a smile to my face, but then, my heart broke. It meant my fountain show is gone. No more madness, no more fun together, nothing to look back on.

Berry is right, it's almost like the death of a close friend. How do you say goodbye without being there? Sad might be an understatement now.

Back from Melbourne but while that was fun, nothing seems to occupy my mind more than that now.

Friday, April 06, 2007

Easter break now.. and with the week's long mid-semester break, I am now typing in the comfort of my cousin's place in Melbourne.

Despite not sleeping almost NOTHING for the last few days (due to assignments), I managed to get packed and all to get ready for this trip!

Melbourne has been good so far. Kerf has been great to me as well. Loving the weather here and I really don't feel like going back to Brisbane. THe lifestyle here and everything that goes on in the city, how do I put itm its just bustling with activities! Maybe I just stayed within college grounds for too long. I need to get out more. Hmm..

Flying back on Sunday. Then doing some work before another two day break to th Gold Coast! =)

I like Kerf's pillow, and oh so tempted to kidnap it back to Brisbane. *grin*

Countless sleepless nights I have endured. While it is partially due to the completion of assignments, the nagging feeling and knowing the dreams will get to me certainly don't make sleeping a very tempting thought.

Fatigue is setting in. Days becoming nights, where life becomes topsy turvy all over again. Eyebags start to appear on this pale sickly face. Running on reserves, the body screams for immediate attention, dire need for rest.

Fleeting thoughts go through the mind. Have I managed to stay on the path I have thought was planned out for me? Am I still here for the same purpose? The change in degree, has it made it any difference in my goals in life?

Sanity. How does one lose it? How does one know when you lose it? How do you gain it back?

Reliance. Are the friends you make the ones that will stick by you? How do you make sure you never lose the ones you really treasure?

Love. To love or be loved. Which is of more importance? To appreciate the moment now or risk it all?

Peace. Something we all need to strike a balance in life and find from within. But in the maddening crowds around, how does one try and stop to breathe, when the world never stops?

Work. It never end does it? How to manage and not fall behind?

Relationships. Love them or hate them, they are here to stay. Tolerance is one of the keys to make them work.

The cold sends shivers down my spine, waking up the senses. The world is beautiful I have come to realise, if I only know what to look at. Autumn's finally here, my heart will rejoice soon enough.

Something light and heart warming in the midst of the misery I feel.

"I love you when you are sober."

That made me smile on the inside. Someone put that in the next chick flick script.

Kev sweets, thank you. I love you for that. You know I do don't you? *hugs*

And I still want polar bear cub knut.

Four nights in a row, I have spent four nights of slumber tossing and turning in my dreams. Dreams of far away places, of people I know, of being in the arms of supposed future other half, of moving furniture around, of bleeding profusely from needle pricks.

I wake up, tired, in need of rest, proper rest. One where I fall so deep into slumber that I wake up refreshed and geared up for the day ahead. Not regretting I ever slept, where I remember the dreams so vividly it feels like it really did happen. The exhaustion from rearranging the room, the pain from the pricks I get from cleaning up the room of needles, the comfort and security I got in the arms of him, where his eyes just told me everything is ok and that there is always him to turn to.

I want to feel the pain and all, the love and fatigue, but not when I need to recharge. Get all these dreams away from me. That's it, I'm drinking myself to sleep.

Slowly but surely, she falls asleep just as the sun is about to rise. Very soon, another day in the life of the dreamer begins.

She stumbles into a brand new day blurry-eyed and with a heavy heart, unsure of what really took place the night before. It doen't take her long to realise when she sees the bloody mess around the room and the fresh gaping wound located in her chest. The numbness has worn off to reveal waves of aches and pain that she thought she would never feel again.

The world goes on, minding its own business. People rushing along, as time ticks away. But the dreamer's world seems to have stopped in time, where she stays in the past, a moment that took place last night, where she once again stood there, vulnerable. She relives the encounter and shudders at how her eyes start to mist. She tries to find that one solid rock that she can hold on to, and brave the storm that she sees ahead of her. But there is nothing, no one there to help tide her through this. The dreamer stands alone, cold and vulnerable.

An obstacle she must overcome, the dreamer is determined to get over this phase. It will only make her stronger, and that in itself will be a battle won. But will the dreamer be able to pull through?

Sunday, March 18, 2007

Waking up from a vivid dream, the dreamer should be feeling happiness more than that pang of sadness that surrounds her. A dream of two people going out and doing things in a spur of the moment, things that should be filed in the brain as happy and treasured moments, these all made the dreamer realise the world isn't as pretty as it seems.

With concious effort, she occupies her mind with everything possible to prevent herself from falling further. Trying to clear trays in the dining hall, reading the papers, responding to emails - she tries everything, but to no avail. The tears just roll off her cheeks, and as she feels the warmth and the saltiness of the tears, she is brought back to a time where she was hurt by someone she felt and stood by for so long.

The dreamer finally occupies her mind with mindless chores within her room. But dinner time creeps slowly upon her, and as she stood in line, she could not help but think. Dinner was slow and torturous, and that resulted in her sitting out in fields of serenity and beauty.

As day turned to dusk, she thought that everything would maybe turn out fine, that it was nothing but just a dream . But little did the dreamer know that she was in for a surprise - after waiting for what seemed like forever, he finally spoke. The one she had dreamt of ever so often, the one that meant so much to her.

Hands all clammy, she took a deep breath. With shaky hands she dived into a conversation she had waited in anitcipation but yet was trying to escape from. Her little world of fantasy was starting to look so tempting to stay in when compared to reality.

Words exchanged and what almost seemed like a heated arguement took place. While one party was firm on trying to make peace, the other was hesistant, unsure of what to do, what to say next. Memories came flooding back, and tears again, started to fall. The dreamer takes one blow after another, unsure of how to respond and react to what he says, and can only reach for her only solace in this time of need - something hidden deep within the contents of her wardrobe. Drop by drop, she consumes the foul tasting liquid, in hope that it will make this episode easier to get by.

The exchange continues and after what seems like forever, talking to one another seems hard for her. She never remembered it being so hard to open up to him, to try and understand him. While her mind and limbs start to feel numb from the intoxicating poison, she sums up all her courage to deal with the matter. It felt like forever but it never seemed to be resolved. He knew he was sorry, but the dreamer was not touched by his effort in getting through to her. The dreamer wondered if he truly ever understood what she had gone through. But his words stabbed her heart again and again, making the already bleeding heart nothing but a lump of bloody flesh.

After a few attempts, she manages to end it all. But while everyone around her had long fallen in deep slumber, the dreamer nurses a wound that would not healed after so long. Why did he talk to her with words that almost mean nothing at the end of the day?

The dreamer does not feel the pain now. What just took place almost feels like it never did, like it was just another dream. But perhaps when a new day begins, and the numbeness wears off, the ache of the wounds will not be that easy to ignore. The dreamer can only hope that this misery of hers will end with much haste, before everything else falls apart.

Rushing through the everyday chores in college and school, I have kind of lost myself in it all. It all still seems a little overwhelming still, maybe I have been out of school for too long - everything seems to be going by so fast I need to work harder to catch up.

But that being said, I must admit that I do not pratice what I preach - accomplishing the day's work within the day. Especially so this week with the arrival of my mummys for a visit. A very short trip down to Gold Coast was the most amount of time I had spent with them and while I do not feel the absence since their departure from Brisbane approximately 15 minutes ago, I appreciate the effort and trouble they went through to come all the way to visit.

That said, the visit also meant I have got more things from my family. This also means that I have to pack the room all over again. With a room that isn't that spacious, it may be a tad bit tricky to get everything in its place and create a cosy, condusive environment for my friends and I to be in.

While I have some friends who questioned if I ever did experience any culture shocks, I must say that I like it here pretty much. The people, way of life, service standards, everything I suppose, I feel rather comfortable with it all.

School work needs to be rushed and done this weekend. St. Patrick's Day, too bad I won't be decked out in green and having fun. One thing I hope to gain from these 2 years - to learn to live life the way the aussies do.

Well got to go, can't be using Kevin's laptop forever. Hope everything is good back home!

Thursday, March 08, 2007

Everyday I check my email with anticipation. But the day will always end with a tinge of disappointment. This is getting to be so much harder than I thought it to be.

School work is getting a little crazy. The workload isn't alot ... yet. But there is so much I don't get because I missed the first lecture and I have myself to blame for not pushing myself hard enough to read day and night.

When someone's behaviour reminds me of you, I show no mercy of being a horrible bitch to him. And for that, I'm really sorry to him (you know who you are).

Hello everyone, my name's Karin, and stupidity is my middle name.

A group of student from Emmanuel College did our part to help maintain the scenic greenery around college grounds by taking part in Clean Up Australia Day today.

A yearly event, Clean Up Australia Day sees many australians getting together to do good for the environment. 4th March 2007 was no different, and equipped with gloves and trash bags, the student set off to pick up trash along Sir William MacGregor Drive.

Bottles, cans and tabs were the most common trash picked up, with the occassional tennis balls (or what was left of them) and styrofoam. While the students tried to pick up as much litter around as possible, the rubbish that was washed up to the sides of the river was hard to reach and had to be left behind.

Some prized possessions found during clean up were a green wig, an old police baton (which may be really handy for the Hall Porter), and of course, the writer herself found a beer mug - merchandise of another college.

What took a mere two hours or so resulted in approximately 10 bags of trash. While it may not be alot, at least the group of students helped made a difference to those living around them.

Clean Up Australia Day takes place on the first Sunday of March and for more information please go to http://cleanup.org.au/au/.

First week of school's over. While it didn't fly by me as quickly as I thought it would, the thought of heading into tutorials next week worry me. I feel very ill-prepared for school, like I am just going through the motions of it all because everyone is doing a degree. Eek. Not good.

It has been a bit of a challenge trying to stay awake to do my readings. While it may be due to the lack of a fan in my room, I think I need to focus on getting work done. Thank goodness for Kevin, who was nice enough to allow me to use his place to read the other night. Does help that he makes tea for me upon request. =)

Was at Kevin's again last night, and we went out to buy groceries for the boys. First time doing proper grocery shopping here! I couldn't help but smile. I miss grocery shopping, I miss stocking up the kitchen, and to an extent I wish I had a kitchen to try cooking.

The friends at college have been awesome. While I may be the oldest, I don't really feel it most of the times. It feels like the good old days back in poly, where we just all go crazy. There are the inside jokes and all of course, but that's bound to happen.

I need to get into the habit of reading the papers and everything else everyday, even if it means lacking sleep. I need to get that thought into this really thick skull of mine.

Home sick? Not yet. Just miss cooking food like instant noodles and cup noodles as and when I want to. The tim-tams I bought are still on the shelf (and I am very proud of that), but I think I need to clear the shelves for books really soon.

Mummy is coming by in a week or so. While it will be good to have her around, I doubt that I will have the time to do much since I will be busy with my assignments.

Went for a couple of dance lessons this week, while it was good to dance, I realised that my joints are acting up, again. I wonder how will i juggle work with everything else. There is so much to do that I don't want to miss out but yet I know that I am here for my education. Ugh. I guess it's time to prioritise!

It's lazy Saturday. It's hot, too many people partied last night to do much today, and there is just a tiny bit of us doing work today. While the rest snooze in bed or head out to the city, I shall just stay here in my humble little room and continue with my readings.

Happiness comes in many forms - getting hugs, sitting with friends for lunch, cleaning a table hoping the owners would like the vanilla scent, reading smses where friends met their dream guys. The list goes on. I like saturdays like this. I feel loved.

Thursday, March 01, 2007

In the wee hours of the morning I am crying my heart out. You have messed up my insides more than enough. No more, enough is enough. I want to have nothing to do with anything or anyone that reminds me of you. If it means blocking them all on msn, I will. If it means not going back to Singapore during the breaks, I will.

This is my limit, this is all that I can take. I shall rid myself out of this misery.
Lectures have started and it seems like there is so much for me to read and do! Books to order and buy, trying to settle down and focus. People to meet and socialise with, clubs and more to join and take in the entire university and college life. A whole lot thrown at one shot, woah.

But that aside, I have to start reading alot about Australia, its history, politics, the government and so much more. This isn't a steep learning curve, it's like one of the biggest challenges I have got in front of me ever.

Thank goodness for friends though. I smile thinking about the hugs I receive from darlings when we part outside the Hall Porter's Office, when someone offers to make me tea in their room, when they smile when i offer to wash my mug after tea, when I get patted on my back as I cough my lungs out, when we all laugh and get lost in dance. I am starting to get used to life and loving it!

I haven't heard from you since I last wrote. Perhaps it was a waste of my money and time. I have decided not to give myself any more false hopes. No more checking of my mail hoping to hear from you, thinking that I was so so wrong about you. No more wishing that I will have the chance to be proven wrong about calling you names and being truthful to you. No more waking up from dreams where it hurt so bad, I actually cry in my sleep. No more thoughts of you that chase away my happy days. No more you in my life. Period. I deserve better, not just as a PTS, but as what I think is a bestie, as a friend, as a human. IN all politness I will thank you for being my PTS and my bestie for the last 6 odd years. While I haven't always turned to you, I am glad to have had the opportunity to be there for you in times of need. I don't think I mean that much as you tell me I do to you, so this is goodbye.

All is done with orientation. Definitely one of the best weeks I have had in so so long, I must admit that I really do miss it. From wearing our gorgeous flourescent yellow caps (all personalised of course), to being woken up at 0630hrs every morning (even if you were up till 5 in the morning), to the crazy stuff we do all week, both on and off campus grounds.

Waking up has been hard of late, perhaps the lack of music blasting down the corridors and fun stuff to do together has made life a tad bit more boring. But all good things have to come to an end no?

On a good note though, things are more or less settled. A change of degree? Yes. Something where the learning curve will be very steep for me. Alot of reading to do, alot to adjust, adapt, settle in and do well in as well. I am fortunate enough to have met kind souls who have made this tiny but draining adventure end on a good note, making me feel that hey, I made the right choice coming here.

College wise, blessed to have a wonderful wing leader who has made settling into college so much easier. Birthdays are going to be celebrated throughout the year, with mud cake and shout outs from everyone! Don't you just love my wing?

The girls are brilliant as well. Made some really good friends to my left and right, and around college. Making friends with seniors as well. While it feels strange to be older than everyone else, it's funny to know that everyone thinks I'm 18. Gotta love looking younger I guess. *grins*

HEading out now, need to get some stuff settled. Managed to get up for breakfast today. Bacon, eggs, toast, cereal, fruit and yoghurt.. I just love it!!!

Wednesday, February 21, 2007

It was Market Day today! All the sports, club and societies all set up booths in the Great Court and boy was there a crowd! With students cooking up a storm with the many bbq pits around, the smell of grilled sausages and onions filled the air. There was also excitement in the air, as freshmen roamed around finding things to sign up for to enrich our uni life.

While I have yet to be homesick, I have fallen ill. Came down with a fever yesterday and thus stayed in my room the entire day and night. Unfortunately I had to miss out on scavanger hunt last night, and I really regretted that. But oh well, at least I'm slightly better now, without a fever but still down with a sorethroat and runny nose. I think this is the bad part about being away from home - no one to show you TLC when you need it.

Toga party's tomorrow night. Think we are going shopping for stuff prior to that. And oh yes, I think I lost my camera memory stick the night of bush dancing, and only realised it last night. This sucks.

Meanwhile, I'm rather loving it pretty much here in college, and I wish school would not be starting so soon. But logically speaking, if there wasnt school, there wont be college would there? So sadly enough, back to the books we must head too soon too soon.

Monday, February 19, 2007

O week came early for me, with Emmanuel starting orientation on Saturday. So far it has been really great fun, with formal dinner, games and crazy antics by the leaders.

I like what college life has been so far, but my joints are acting up again so I unfortunately had to forgo the morning bootcamp session today. It looked extremely fun, with the rolling in water and down a tiny slope and all. While I have not exactly made that many friends here in the college, I am glad to say that there are some pretty good ones so far. Hopefully I will have the cahnce to get to know more people before school starts proper.

Things started at school, with all the talks to schedule between programmes at Emmanuel. but it was really good to see faces like Sean, Ira and Emilyn who I have not seen for almost a week!

Was chatting with Sean earlier on in the day, and the topic on friendships came up. I guess it is true to say that one would need to realise that friends do come and go. Nothing lasts forever and not everything remains how you once thought it to be. I was naive in the past but then things that happened in my life made me understand it all. One can try really hard to hold onto everyone but if the other party either takes advantage of your friendship and love for them, or just does not treasure you that much, then maybe it might be better to just learn to let go.

I won't change who I am because I love the way I am and most importantly, how I treat my friends. To me, they mean the world to me. They are in a way, family. If you can't trust friends on turn to them and share joy and woe, who else can you turn to?

This one week, I have witnessed generousity and sincerity from a jolly old man on the train. The openess and friendly chatter amongst strangers seem so infectious that it's rubbing off on me. I am learning to embrace the changes that one will face on their own, and at the same time, never to forget who I am. All things take time, and I guess settling in and moving on to this exciting awesome new chapter won't be any different.

I may not always be there for you guys like I always have, and I may not always be free to write and call. But do know that everyone I know and love back at home will always stay in my heart and I hope I do stay in yours too.

Today, I...

Helped someone find brochures for available accommodation.

Approached someone on campus and gave directions to the library.

Things are still a little bit of a drag due to the problems I'm facing with my study. I'm very sure that this is the time for me not to hold back and start a war with the school till they give in to my requests!

But other than that, got to know some really really nice friends from different parts of asia. Will try and take pictures soon and upload them to the blog.

Visit to the city with friends tomorrow! Been a few times already but hey, it's before school starts!

All of this and what I did today, seeing the guy so relieved he finally knows the way, makes me so much better. All that is happening to me now will just make me stronger.

I feel so much happier!

And yes, happy valentines day everyone!

FYI, over here, V day is not as heavily emphasised as back home. Easter is the focus now with chocolate easter eggs just about everywhere in supermarkets.

THANK YOU to my darlings in the HTMIG for all the yummy-licious local food that you got for me for the gathering! From shrimp paste chicken, cereal prawns, to malay favourites like sayur lodeh and rendang, to indian rojak and so much more!! Desserts were a blast too, with homemade goodies and good new year goodies and chocolate cake.

Back at Mich's place getting stuff done to my laptop (shall come up with a nick for it soon). Eating this fabulous Durian Ice Cream from erm... -grabs tub and checks label- The Ice Cream Gallery @ Eastwood. It's really really good! To those staying around the east, I suggest that you try it. So yummy!

Time is really flying by way too fast, there is so much that I want to do and I doubt that I will be able to do so. Places to go, things to eat, and most importantly, people to meet. And I have yet to pack. So worrying, I know.

Craving for loads of food now despite lunch at Billy Bomber's earlier with Brian. More ice cream!!!

Saturday, February 03, 2007

The days have been flying past really fast, meeting up with the same people more or less. But all is good, for these are the people that I really treasure and care for.

Chinatown and Arab St with Fairy Godma on Thursday, followed by dinner with Snuffy in Bugis. Snuffy wasn't well, so I'm very worried about him. I mean, he is, after all, MY Snuffy.

Headed to Sentosa with Mich and Fairy Godma on Friday!! Lunch at RITS, TAS, and meeting up with people like Gavin and the lecturers was great. It was then down to Orchard where I met up with my Kokomo Prince after his japanese class. We all made our way down to Chinatown for nasi lemak!!! And while he went back to watch his precious anime, Jaydee and Zoe made their way down for their weekly dose of delish piping hot porridge and frog legs! Met up to have a pretty nice chat of a wide range of things and then back to home sweet home!

I don't really know how to say how I feel now. Mixed emotions? Most definitely. The future is somehow uncertain, and all I know is that I can take one step at a time. I trust in Him and know that He has got something planned for me, in all aspects of my life.

To have feelings is human. To do whatever you can to prevent yourself from getting hurt, is also human. Moving on, is also human.

I must admit, one of the saddest things I can think of and know for certain about all of this, I don't really want to be away from you. But well, not always can we have our cake and eat it can we?

A snippet of a conversation with Poyew:

py | wheeeeeeee! says:
what do you mean i'll never know how much you love me?

py | wheeeeeeee! says:
of course i do!

I also received a very sweet sms from Dee last night.

With sweethearts like these, it's ok that part of my world seems to be going crazy.

The Power Of Your Love

Lord I come to You
Let my heart be changed renewed
Flowing from the grace that I found In You

Lord I've come to know
The weakness I see in me
Will be stripped away
By the power of Your love

Hold me close
Let Your love surround me
Bring me near
Draw me to Your side

And as I wait
I'll rise up like the eagle
And I will soar with You
Your Spirit leads me on
By the power of Your love

Lord unveil my eyes
Let me see You face to face
The knowledge of Your love as You live In me

Lord renew my mind
As Your will unfolds my life
In living every day By the power of Your love

Hold me close
Let Your love surround me
Bring me near
Draw me to Your side

And as I wait
I'll rise up like the eagle
And I will soar with You
Your Spirit leads me on
By the power of Your love

I find it quite a trying time now. Lots to do, to prepare - physically, emotionally, mentally. In times like this, I'm glad I have Him to turn to. My one pillar of strength that I know will always be there for me.

Earlier in the evening was the meet-up with the gang from JI. Dinner was at New York New York, followed by dessert at Bakerzin. The group though knowing one another for approximately 7 years, somehow always revolve around similar topics and cliques.

Seeing most of everyone was good. Especially faces like JUSTIN, who meets up maybe once every year only due to his busy schedule. Very touched-ded that he made it a point to come by today! *hugs* Can't imagine that after 7 years, we all are still somehow like how we were back at JI; silly, buddies, wacky but still close and loving to one another.

A tiny handful of us headed to Justin's rented place @ Chinatown, where we drank, played a itsy bit of cards, and then cam-whored A WHOLE LOT! The place was nicely done up, a very minimalistic look that fits the lifestyles of 2 bachelors who entertain quite a bit i gather.

Won't load up all the pictures that I have, but here are two pictures that I REALLY LOVE taken at Justin's:

Love how Justin looks in this shot (ok many others too), and guess who took the shot? *beams*

Don't you just love the play of light?

I got home and looked at the card these darlings gave. And freak, I cried. WhileDylan was being an absolute sadist and laughed at me via MSN, I guess reality check is more or less setting in. With the packing to start and get over with asap, I really don't know how much excitement I feel at the moment. I already miss them terribly.

Had a strange dream last night. I made blankets, one after another. While that may not be amusing nor funny, here it goes - I made blankets that smelled of happy warm thoughts one could ever imagine - blankets smelling of piping hot fluffy pancakes, blankets smelling like flowers in bloom, blankets that smell of someone dear who holds onto to you tight.

I tried one of those blankets I made, think was one of those with the comfort of yummy pancakes I would not mind waking up to everyday. The feeling? It felt soothing, safe and happy, like I was wrapped in a quilt of love and TLC. And loving the feeling, I remember my dream-self telling myself to blog about it.

But when I got up, I started to think - how could a feeling that feels so familiar and comfortable, be so foreign?

Painkillers are my best friend.

Had the second extraction of my wisdon teeth done this week. If you are wondering when on earth did I get my wisdom teeth extracted, it started last friday. The last 2 were removed earlier today.

To be honest, I was never looking forward to the visits to the dentist, especially after removing teeth for my braces in the past. But what has to be done has to be done! The experiences not something that I want to remember trust me. But today was the worse, and I left the dentist with my left cheek swollen like that of a chipmunk's!

Still biting hard on the freaking gauze for so long, my jaw aches. Cold press are like my buddies, helping me feel less of the pain that I REALLY don't want to feel. And because of the stupid stitch can the pain and everything else, I have been reduced to a mumbling idiot who can only go on a liquid diet!

Thank goodness for the good food and reat company I had yesterday. Lunch with Candice at Ichiban Boshi, and the exercise for the day, a walk from outram all the way to *drum roll* bugis! Then it was buffet dinner at Tian Tian Steamboat with my fairy godma and mimi! We ate till we almost had to roll out of the restaurant! And gosh, the cab ride with them was hilarious!! Girls. let's go ride on the DHL BAAloon as the taxi driver mentioned ya? *grinz*

Oh god, can the pain ever stop? Well I don't feel like staying online for long for now. Meanwhile, back to the google box, with my cold press, and consuming things with the aid of a silly straw. Ugh.

Went back to TP today for the open house. Not something to get all excited about, the thing that made Jovi, Xiu and me all raring to return was to devour the yummy food at the various canteens!

From western food to tom yam soup, our stomachs were happy during our visit back. The lecturers were busy, as usual, in the chat rooms or lecture theatres.

The visit back was one of reminiscing. The times of countless IG meetings that took place till late into the night, projects that had to be rushed and group members going nuts due to deadlines.

Headed over to Miss Clarity Cafe later in the day with Jasmine and Shaidah, and after stuffing our faces silly again, it was over to Parkway Parade for karaoke! Jovi and Jasmine were having the time of their lives belting out hit after hit!

The journey home was nice, being able to talk to Jasmine and bumping into Dylan. It's nice to have friends were one can just talk about personal issues and not feel judged in any way. Thanks fairy god mummy. Wurve you!

Met up with one of my favourite babes, Shu to catch The Painted Veil that stars the talented Edward Norton. With a quick slurp of yummy tau huey at the basement of Cineleisure, it was time for us to enter into the mysterious 11th storey (well at least for Shu), and plonk ourselves comfy into the seats.
The movie was nice. The scenery was fantastic, makes me just want to pack my bags and tour China again. I have not read the book(s) that the movie is based on, but like what Shu said, an epic love story it is, I agree.
Though the show was mainly about the relationship between that of Walter and Kitty, it was played and portrayed with that subtleness that does not 'drown' you with too much lovey-dovey bits. Betrayal, love in many forms, breathtaking beauty surrounded by disasters; I liked the film alot, and will attempt to get down to reading the books really soon.
Thanks to Shu, for the movie treat and tau huey, and for being my 'date', sitting all-so-comfy in a couple seat! *hugs*

Last night's BBq was fun! Despite the constant drizzle, we decided to stay put and not allow the weather to dampen the evening's fun. With the few of us working the hot charcoal, getting food done, it was nice to hear the chatter going on in the background. Mind you, this is a group of people who have known one another for many years, this being the 10th year! An almost decade long friendship, kudos to that!

Then there was another gathering I attended some time back, with the Radio Academy darlings. Where Mich cooked up a storm to feed us hungry people. With a wide spread of tender juicy lamb to yummy wings, potato salad, curry veg, bee hoon and sweet soup, to Shu's refreshing salad, Mun's goregous ice cream from Island Creamery, Tammy's popular pie and my contribution of Jane's Cake Station chocolate fudge cake. All that washed down with chilled drinks courtesy of Joseph, we chomped our way through all the food and of course chatted about many things under the sky.

More gatherings are expected the next few weeks I think. Sad that I haven't started any of my preparation. Better get started soon. And the weather had to get better today, sunny and breezy, perfect for tanning. But oh well, I better get started with clearing! *grumbles*

Ok, sorry for being away for the major holidays. The modem kinda died on us on the fatefuly day of the earthquake that took place in Taiwan, and since then I have been using the trusty old dial-up. With dial-up, everything takes forever! So please, appreciate your modems and treat them wih tender TLC!!!

Christmas and New Year was good. The latter was spent on my favourite sunny island, with all my friends working the night away. More gatherings in the last few days, with the Radio Academy people, to the HTM people, and another JB trip with Xiu.

Been rushing to get many things done, though I have been proscrasinating waaaaay too much. Can't help it. With such nice rainy weather, it really is very hard to get anything done. Heh.

Got home from a very heavy dinner, and caught School For Scoundrel earlier. Pretty good film.

AI class gathering tomorrow! Can't believe that it has been a decade since we all met! Hope the weather will be great, got a bbq to be at! =)
